 Clubs Achievements:

Sport & Leisure Swifts 1st Team:

2A - 2001 is the teams first year in the division whereas the committee have tried hard for to get the club put directly into the 1st divisions.  For this to happen the clubs facilities have to be of good standard.  2A consists of the best Amateur League teams who are not quite able to move forward.  However, one good look around the new Leisure facilities, when completed, should eventually be good enough for the move forward.

2B - 2000/01:  Runners up to Newcastle.  This was the clubs first gain as Sporting Leisure Swifts FC.  This proved to many doubters that the amalgamation between Leisure & Belfast Swifts that things would not fall apart and has made the club quite an Amateur League force.  This was also the first time ever that Sport & Leisure Swifts FC have ever been so high up in the Leagues and there they hope to remain until excepted into the Amateur League 1st divisions.

2C - 1991/92:  Runners up to Downshire Hospital.  This was almost Leisure's finest year as they also were defeated 4-3 in the Cochrane Corry Cup Final to Wakehurst.  This was the year of Alan O'Connor's record of scoring in every round - apparently the only player ever to do it!!!

2C - Winners in 1993/94.  This has to be the clubs best year as it is the only trophy they have won to date.

2C - 1996/97: After being relegated two seasons after winning 2C the club were once again promoted as Runners up to Bryansburn Rangers after losing out on a play-off.

Sport & Leisure Swifts 2nd Team:

3D - 1998/99:  Runners up to Derriaghy CC II.  This was the 2nd team's only real achievement to date.  They have been one of the better 2nd teams for a long time but have never stood up to their reputation.  As a young team they quite often fell out of League races at the last and with players being taken away taken to play for the first team a strong squad is essential for their success.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The main achievement for the club to date was recently gained of the pitch.  As after years of struggling from John Connolly & John Morgan, against many obstacles, Sport & Leisure Swifts F.C. have finally got their own pitch.  It will be finished for and played on in the season of 2001/02.  They are awaiting a few finishing touches before they can grace their own pitch.  The team will play mainly away matches until the new pitch and changing rooms are finished - hopefully October 2001.

The club would like to give out special thanks to Pyke Lynch and Paul O'Rourke for the painting of the changing rooms.
